Color Week:: Orange

Wow. Not a lot of interesting orange things in my house. The best I could come up with are these shots of the girl playing with her jump rope.Random facts related to the above photos:

*She wasn't actually jumping rope. She said she couldn't because it was "too bright" outside and she was "sooooo tired."

*After the whining ended she began to tell me an extremely long winded story. I can't remember what it was about, but I do remember making the conscious decision to stop actively listening.

*Other orange things in my house I contemplated photographing: dustpan, scissors, bag of cat food, and candy. The candy idea was nixed because I ate it all before getting a proper picture.

You're so on top of this color thing. It's damn near eleven o'clock and I'm still in my pjs and haven't fed my kids any breakfast yet, and you've already checked this off your list. Guess I better go get dressed and pour some cereal so I can start taking some pictures!

*Love the Dan Zanes shirt. My boys used to love him.

She and River would get along swimmingly. They could whine about the sunshine and bore each other into stupors.

Hee, hee.

I like your bits of orange.

And I love the cessation of listening bit. Thank you for fessing up and not being a Blog Land Jones. I don't know how many stories I've tuned out...or things I've agreed to without realizing.

I love that you made the conscious decision to stop listening. I do that at work all the time. I'm going to look for orange in my house tonight.

for some reason my eyes drifted to the sandy earth in the background. it reminded me of visits with my grandmother in charleston.

i do like her orange jump rope though :-)

Ha! Love this post.

We have very little orange in our house too. My kitchen rugs have some orange in them... I think? I have been getting orange t-shirts lately, just because I like them. Not sure how flattering they are but I don't care.

PS: It was too bright for me yesterday, too. Wore me right out. I had to go to bed at 6:30 and have Terri bring me peppermint tea and have dim lighting. What a wimp.

Your conscious decision to stop listening is going to be my new saying!!! Classic.

Since I saw this post I have been looking around for something orange. Nada. I can't believe I have nothing orange in the house. All the oranges in the fruit bowl are even gone. Red is everywhere...now this is bugging me.

Yeah, candy kind of evaporates around here too. And another mother who zones out for those long-winded stories. My youngest now grills me about what exactly I heard. Dang it, I'm so busted.

I poked around today and found some yellow in my abode for tomorrow's color, so I'll jump in then. I know it's pretty lame, but I had to work later than normal yesterday and today, I have a sick kid home with strep throat. Always a day late and a dollar (or color) short.

I make concious decisions to stop listening to my girl all the time. I think she's on to me, though. Yesterday evening she was halfway through a bag of cheese puffs before I realized that I had unconciously agreed to letting her fix her own snack. *laughs* These color posts are neat!
