A Rewarding Feeling

Once or twice a year I receive these Pottery Barn rewards coupons. A reward for what? Well, as far as I can tell, the good folks at the Williams Sonoma corporation are rewarding me for being cash poor yet insisting on sleeping on sheets with a thread count larger than the balance in my savings account.

In the past I've always used the coupon. I mean, $25 off of a $50 purchase?! That's hard to pass up. But this year, I'm passing it up. Not only for the obvious reason that we aren't using credit this year, but also because a few months ago I paid off the remaining balance on my Pottery Barn card. Putting just $50 on it will mar its sexy $0.00 balance. I can't let that happen.

So as to not be enticed into spending, I ripped up my reward after taking the above picture. And no I didn't write down the online coupon code on the back. I thought about it though. Which proves I'm not fully cured.

I'm always amazed that Pottery Barn and their ilk continue to send me their catalogs, even though it's been YEARS since I've bought anything there.

Yay for you! That's a pretty good coupon, though. Although.. I'd be tempted to only spend $51 so as to get full benefit of the coupon, and you don't get much for $51 at Pottery Barn...

So true...a $0 balance is sexy. Hard to pass up $25 off $50. Good for you!

I admire your will power! Much stronger woman than I....especially with Pottery Barn I'm not sure I could do it.

next step is calling/writing to get the catalogs stopped. I did that...others not PB. I actually found it sad to go to the mailbox and have so many fewer catalogs. But I sure as hell spent less.

Go Tammie.

sarah: i think so. :)

daphne: i thought about it, believe me. jay even agreed that if there was something that was a great deal that i should get it. and i was going to get some clearanced sheet sets or something. (pottery barn kids and pottery barn teen usually have really cheap clearanced sets) but i just couldnt do it. its a good thing i ripped up the coupon though. ;)

margaret: that is my next step. i get way too many catalogs and most go right into the recycling.

You are so strong! I'm very impressed. Wish our credit card(s) had those sexy zeros.

You're too sexy for your certificate. You go, girl!

(Weird... my verification word is "storeful". Glad you didn't buy THAT.)

OK, this is SO weird that you posted this because I got that same thing but mine is now hanging on my fridge because that dog? Looks exactly like my dog Sasha. I told all of the kids that Sasha is famous now.
