Quilted Pillow

Sunday I ignored the girl for three hours so that I could make a pillow.I know that sounds terrible. But it was just one of those days where the thought of playing Candy Land or reading a story or doing any of the things she usually requires of me, seemed about as fun as root canal. Actually, today seems like one of those days too but we won't get into that.

I quilted the front, which was something I had never done before. I've always been scared.
Usually when I do patchwork I just sew it all together and then add the appropriate amount of top stictching. But after looking at these pillows at Wise Craft and the manner in which they were quilted, I thought I'd give it a try.

I love the outcome and there is something quite relaxing about quilting. The repetitiveness of it perhaps? There are definite plans for a few more. Jay wants big pillows for when we're sitting up in bed reading.

Now if only I can keep that bed hog Liz Lemon off of it:(Yes, she was asleep and yes, she was snoring.)

Beautiful pillow!
Bumblebee sleeps like that too, no particularly ladylike. I always want to cover her up with a fig leaf or something.

Aww, Liz Lemon is so cute! I remember the days of Candyland, always mindnumbingly boring. Luckily, it's a small window before they outgrow it!

I sort of dig CandyLand, but I haven't HAD to play in 15 years or so...

That pillow is too cute. I could never make that.

as for candyland...i dont normally mind it, it used to by a once a month thing. lately its like 5 or 6 games a day. and when she doesnt win she screams and slams doors. shes difficult.

I love your pillow and you are inspiring me to try something similar. That last photo cracked me up!! I couldn't see the dog at first but when I did, couldn't stop laughing xoxo ps a bit of ignoring by mum is good for kids!

Gorgeous pillow. Can we have a closeup so I can see the quilting part better?

Very funny dog photo. Looks like she is maybe about to give birth.

We all ignore our children sometime or we would go INSANE. I assuage the guilt by giving extra cuddles and attention before and after the ignoring.

That is awesome. I love all the yellows. Isn't strange how something small like a pillow can totally change a room.

My dog snores as well. Real loud. She is too old and fat to jump on the bed. But if she could, she would. Oh...she also farts a lot in her sleep. It will scare her awake. Nice.

What a sweet dog! It makes me want to join her. The pillow looks great. It's always rewarding to try something new and have it be a success.
